Adada will be first state to be created from South East – Reps member, Obetta

The member representing Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Chidi Obetta, has stated that Adada State will be the first to be created from the South East.
Obetta, who made the assertion, weekend, during his 2nd Town Hall Meeting with his constituents at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, said Nsukka is the only old province yet to become a state despite its large population and landmass.
He stated that he has co-sponsored a bill to amend the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to effect the creation of Adada State.
DAILY POST reports that apart from the proposed Adada State, there are also clamours for the creation of other states out of the present South-East. They include Etiti, Olu, Equity, Aba, Anim, among others.
However, Obetta declared that: “If there is any state that should be created from the South East, the first should be Adada State.
“Since 1979, the people of the South East have endorsed the creation of Adada State
