Nigeria have now opened a two-point lead in Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.
This follows the 2-2 draw between Sierra Leone and Guinea-Bissau in the second fixture played today.
The visitors raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Jorginho’s brace, before they went a man down after Sana’s red card.
The Leone Stars then fought back with Musa Kamara netting a late equalizer.
The Super Eagles hammered Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 earlier on Monday.
The win means they have six points from two matches, ahead of their double-header meeting with Guinea-Bissau in September
