Akpagher-Ikpenger-Kuhwa-Akumba Road Project: Byuan Hails Akume’s Constituency Development Efforts

The Executive Director, Finance and Accounts, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Dr. Mathias Byuan, has lauded Hon. Mrs. Regina Akume, representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, for initiating the construction of the Akpagher-Ikpenger-Kuhwa-Akumba road project.

At the flag-off ceremony in Akpagher town, Byuan, representing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, described the project as “unprecedented in the constituency” and praised Akume’s achievements within her first year in office.

In her address, Hon. Mrs. Regina Akume attributed the project’s initiation to her budgetary efforts and thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and other National Assembly members for their support. She assured her constituents of more developmental projects, citing her recent achievements, including: Health Initiatives: Distribution of health materials, mattresses, and mosquito nets to primary health care centers, Free eye testing and treatment for over 200,000 people, construction of special-purpose blocks, motorized boreholes, and staff quarters, training, grants, and provision of herbicides and improved seed varieties.

Engr. Wang Yungfeng, Principal Officer at Martinyos Nigeria Ltd handling the project, assured the community of quality delivery, highlighting the project’s features, including eight bridges and ten culverts.

In separate goodwill messages, Prof. Joseph Utsev, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, promised to support Mrs. Akume’s work by providing boreholes for Mbatyav residents. Other dignitaries, including Hon. Mrs. Becky Orpin and traditional rulers, HRH Gabriel Ishosum and HRH Joseph Gandeorun, offered their support and blessings to Mrs. Akume.
