The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem with a charge on the legionnaires to wear the emblem with pride.

He also charged them to participate actively in all the activities to celebrate the remaining activities of the programme.

DAILY POST reports that the governor launched the emblem when he spoke to members of the Nigeria Legion, ex-servicemen, families of fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces, security personnel and government functionaries on Friday in Government House.

Okpebholo represented by Musa Umar Ikhilor, the Secretary to the State Government reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to build a society of peace and security and to ensure unity prevails in the state.

“The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by gallant men and women, who, through courage and selflessness stood as a defensive wall for the Country’s unity.

“Let us take the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to building a society where peace, security and unity prevail. A society worthy of the sacrifices made by our armed forces and it is in this light that re-emphasises the need for us all to work together in unity beyond diversity, and differences of tribes, tongues and religions to come together and build a nation of brotherhood
