Mr. Chike Tasie, a veteran journalist and former Chief Press Secretary to Anthony Oguguo, ex-military Governor of old Imo State, is dead.
He hailed from Umuobiala community in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia state, and died at the age of 74 years.
Upon the creation of Abia State in 1991, Mr Tasie was also appointed Chief Press Secretary to Group Captain Frank Ajobena, first Military Administrator of Abia State.
The deceased’s journalist also holds the singular distinction of serving 3 different Governors as Chief Press Secretary.
This was made known in a statement on Friday by Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
However, while mourning the deceased, Mr Ememanka expressed sadness over the unfortunate death of Mr Chike Tasie, who he also described as a thorough-bred journalist with the News Agency of Nigeria before his appointment in the old imo state.
The governor’s spokesman who recalled that after deceased’s service as Chief Press Secretary here, he joined the State Civil Service, and retired as State Director of Information, and further described Late Mr Chike Tasie, as a jolly good fellow
