CITN HONOURS BRF WITH INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY MEMBER AWARD 3 AT THE 2020 AWARD CEREMONY

The Former Governor of Lagos,Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) current Nigeria Minister of Power and Works has been honoured with the Individual Category Member Award 3, by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria for his unquantifiable contributions to the development and sustenance of the Institute and Nigerian Tax System.

The prestigious Awards was presented to the Minister representative on Saturday at the Lagoon Restaurant Victoria Island during the 2020 Annual Dinner and Awards of The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

The President of the CITN,Dame Gladys Olajumoke Simplice congratulated the Awardees nominated and honoured at the programme for a job well done in their areas of contributions so far.

She commended the federal government on their steps towards fiscal policy decisions and measures initiated by the Tax Administration in the course of the year as awesome. And expressed how the Institute is delighted that the federal government has sustained the review of the tax laws as an annual affair. For it attest to the government’s seriousness in addressing the revenue challenges that we face in Nigeria. She expressed.

The President however urged for more holistic review of the Tax Incentives regime in Nigeria so as to be properly structured in the nation to achieve its intended objectives because knee jerk approach or actions that are not objectively assessed would do more harm than good to the national economy.

Other year 2020 Awardees were The Punch News paper,as Outstanding Print Media, Mr. Hamzat Ayodele Subair the Executive Chairman for Lagos State Internal Revenue Service,Chairman Abiodun Adediran Olatunji of World Lilies Event Place Ibadan,Yobe State government, Dr. Mark Abani of Agriculture Leadership Taxation, management and Special Media Award to Tax matters.
