Don’t remember me for my many fights – Obaseki to Edo people
The outgoing Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki said he would not want to be remembered for the many battles he fought after leaving office but for his numerous achievements in repositioning the state.
DAILY POST reports that the governor made the remarks while answering questions from newsmen after the commissioning of the Airport Road Parks and Garden in Benin City.
Obaseki, in answering a question on how he would want to be remembered after eight years as governor, simply replied, “Certainly not for the fights”.
Obaseki had in the past years in office fought several political battles with his political benefactors and opponents.
He noted that the people oriented programmes and policies put in place by his administration made the electorate to reelect him in the 2020 governorship election.
He added that the same programmes and policies made the people to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Asue Ighodalo in the September 21, 2024 governorship election
