FIRST LADY OF LAGOS STATE DR.MRS. CLAUDIANA IBIJOKE SANWO- OLU COMMENDS THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF SOMOLU LOCAL GOVERNMENT HON.ABDUL – HAMMED SALAWU (DULLAR)ON HIS TRANSFORMATIONAL INITIATIVES.

The first lady of Lagos state Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Commended the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government for his transformational agenda, especially on health related matters.She said this during the flag – off ceremony of the implementation of 2nd Round of the year 2024 Maternal,Newborn and Adolescent Health + Plus Nuitrition (MNCAH+N) week at the new Secretariat of Somolu Local Government.
“Your depth of knowledge of the people you govern has adequately equipped you to provide their basic needs, this has impacted positively on their well being, this has endeared you to the people and therefore yearning to have more of you, on behalf of our National and International Partners, we thank you very sincerely for accepting to host this event despite the short notice”
She used this occasion to appeal to the people of Lagos state to be intentional in what they eat, feed their born and pregnant women.
The member representing Somolu Constituency 1, Hon Abiodun Orekoya appealed to the first lady to Expidite actions on the Expansion of the Somolu General Hospital , which was the brainchild of the first lady of Lagos state.,having being the former Medical Director of the Somolu General Hospital .He promised to use his position at the House of Assembly to ensure that the project is captured in the 2025 Budget .
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Dr. Mrs. Kemi Ogunyemi appealed to Council Chairmen and other leaders in Lagos to collaborate with Lagos State Government towards ensuring that Lagosian live a healthy life.She said, “go to all the nooks and crannies of the Local Governments to extent the gospel of good nutrition for the adults, the children and the unborn babies.
The Chief of Field Office of UNI CEF, Mrs Celine Lafouriene said her organization is interested in the number of Children delivered at every time and moment because the data will help her organization to plan for their well being and welfare.
The executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government advised the residents to consider their income before having children, “while it is important and necessary to have children, the need to raise healthy offsprings will necessitate having manageable number of children.The Chairman said, ” the joy of every parent is to have children that will live and not die, our vision is to establish Primary Healthcare centre at every ward, make them to operate 24hrs, affordable and accessible, with eight wards, Somolu Local Government has six Primary Healthcare centres.
