Rising from its 34th annual general conference, the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, has threatened to drag the Federal Government of Nigeria before the International Court of Justice over what it termed “artificial flood disaster” occasioned by government’s negligence.
The threat is contained in a statement signed by Comrade Israel Joe and made available to DAILY POST.
The CDHR said the move is to compel the Federal Government to compensate citizens affected by the flood, especially in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
The CDHR said the artificial flood caused by the negligence of the Federal Government has killed about 612 people
