Honoring A Life Of Grace & Service: Mrs. Ebunoluwa Esther Ojelabi Laid To Rest In Lagos

The final rites for the late Mrs. Ebunoluwa Esther Ojelabi, beloved wife of Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Noble Castle Event Centre, Igando-Egbeda Road, Lagos. The solemn ceremony drew dignitaries, political leaders, and well-wishers who came together to bid farewell to a woman deeply cherished.

Mrs. Ojelabi passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, prompting an outpouring of sympathy from across the nation. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Pastor Ojelabi and the family, recognizing the immeasurable pain of losing a beloved wife and mother. He offered prayers for strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also mourned her passing, describing her as a nurturing figure whose warmth left a lasting impact. He encouraged the family to draw strength from her inspiring legacy.

In a statement, the Lagos State House of Assembly expressed deep sorrow over her death. Mr. Stephen Ogundipe, Chairman of the House Committee on Information and Strategy, praised her for being a devoted wife and revered mother, praying for her peaceful rest.

Among those who paid tribute was Hon. Surajudeen Olatunji Tijani, popularly known as Emir, representing Ojo Constituency II and Chairman of the House Services Committee. He recalled her kind heart, motherly nature, and the genuine care she extended to all, praying for her soul’s eternal peace.

The funeral service featured moving tributes that highlighted Mrs. Ojelabi’s steadfast support for her husband and her dedication to community service. Speakers emphasized the profound void her departure has left in both her family and the wider community.

Following the service, she was laid to rest at a private burial ground in the presence of close family members and selected dignitaries. The Ojelabi family expressed sincere appreciation for the overwhelming support, prayers, and love shown during their time of mourning.

Mrs. Ebunoluwa Esther Ojelabi is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and service lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
