Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri LCDA Presents 2025 Budget Proposal of ₦6.393 Billion for “Acceleration and Consolidation”

The Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada presented the yeear 2025 budget proposal titled “Acceleration and Consolidation” to the Legislative Council for consideration and passage. The proposed budget, totaling ₦6.393 billion, is designed to accelerate ongoing development projects while consolidating previous achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other key sectors.

In her presentation, the Mayoress highlighted that the 2025 budget is a strategic response to the increasing demand for services and infrastructural growth in the rapidly developing LCDA. The focus, she stated, would be on accelerating progress in areas where the council has made significant strides in the past years, while consolidating and expanding these achievements for the benefit of all residents.

“This budget is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the growth and prosperity of Ikosi Isheri. We are focused on not just advancing the pace of development but ensuring the sustainability of the gains we’ve made over the past years,” said the Mayoress.

The LG Boss explained that the budget of”Acceleration and Consolidation” proposal includes provisions for:
Infrastructure Development: Expansion of road networks, drainage systems, and street lighting to improve urban living conditions and reduce traffic congestion.
Education : Increased investment in school infrastructure, educational materials, and scholarships for indigent students to promote quality education.
Healthcare: Strengthening primary healthcare services and community health programs to ensure access to quality and affordable healthcare for all residents.
Social Welfare : Programs aimed at empowering women, youth, and vulnerable groups, including skills acquisition and financial support initiatives
Environmental Sustainability : Enhancement of waste management systems, beautification projects, and green initiatives aimed at ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment.

The Mayoress further emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the budgeting process, noting that the proposed budget would be carefully scrutinized to ensure that every naira spent serves the best interests of the people of Ikosi Isheri.

Princess Bada expressed confidence that the collaboration between the Executive Legislative arm and Management, as well as continued support from the residents would make the successful execution of the budget possible.

The Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Yinusa Kolawole Salami, commended the Mayoress for impactful governance and assured the gathering that Legislative Council would expedite speedy action on the reveiw and passage of the bill for the progress and development of the area.

The Council Leader further appreciated Mayoress on the reconstruction of the New Otunba Bushura Alebiosu Legislative Complex and well equipped to standard to meet the Legislative Affairs, adding that this structure would enable them to perform their Legislative functions for the progress and development of the area.

The occasion was witnessed by the Deputy Mayor, Hon Olayinka Ogunleye, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon.Kola Omotayo, Honourable Councillors, Members of the Executive Committee, Council Manager, Mrs. Mercy Bolakale Adeyemi, Management Team, Community Development Committee Chairman and Members and other Stakeholders in the area.
