In the spirit of 2021 New Year celebration, Speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Titus Uba Wednesday distributed 300 bags of rice, 30 cows, salt, maggi and cash to the twelve (12) council wards that make up Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue state.
Addressing his kinsmen who converged on LGEA Central Primary school Vandeikya to take delivery of the items, Rt Hon. Uba said the gesture should be regarded as a token from his heart to reach out to them during the festive season, hopping that bigger things would come their way through him.
Earlier in a welcome speech, the Executive Chairman Vandeikya Local Government, Hon. Mrs Kukase Tyoer Garba appreciated the Speaker for being kind to his people despite the economic realities of the time. She cautioned youth against scrambling over the items with the aged men and women so that they would attract God’s blessings.
Speaking separately in an interview with newsmen, Mrs Garba congratulated the people of Vandeikya Local Government, wishing them “a happy New Year in advance and a merry Christmas in arrears”.
PDP chairman Vandeikya LG, Hon. Nyior Gbatar in a remark instructed ward chairmen of the party who collected the items for onward distribution to members at ward level not to share it at LGEA central Primary school Vandeikya (where the distribution took place) but they should take it to their various council wards to accommodate more people.

The speaker was accompanied to the occasion by his amiable wife, Mrs Pauline Uba, former Assembly member for Kyan constituency and member, Benue state House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Benjamin Mom Dogwo.
