ABOUT 50 WIDOW EMPOWERED THIS YEAR
The Wife of the Governor of Lagos State,Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo Olu has been praised for her usual support for about 300 widows gathered by the Group of Happy Moment Widows and Children Foundation every year.
The Chairman for Happy Moment Widows and Children Foundation, Princess Adunni Adunola Ewatomi Adetona extended her praises on Tuesday during the NGO annual Thanksgiving and End of the year party for year 2020 held at Afisman drive Ikeja,that this Governor Sanwo Olu Administration has been more inclusive in carrying the widows in the state along and it is worthy to be commended for the support.
Princess Adetona expressed thereby that the NGO has began since year 2010 to engage widows for empowerment in order to alleviate poverty in the state at areas of finances,products distribution for their businesses to profitably thrive, without leaving the work for the government alone.
She however noted that about 50 widows were envisaged to empower this year due to COVID 19 pandemic hardship as participants were giving food and drinks as take home.
She appealed to the Nigeria government to show love to Nigerians in this period of thoughts of rudiments of EndSARS protest and COVID 19 trouble which chases neighbours away from homes due to hunger anger. And urged Nigerians at this moment to love one another.
Participant widow,Mrs Mojisola Ajiroba prayed for God s blessings for all the sponsors of the NGO to support the widows in their community.
Mr Babatunde Dada called all widower to follow suit in the NGO in the upcoming ones that it is more blessed to give than receiving and prayed for everlasting peace in Nigeria.
