NMA Plateau Set to Host Inaugural Business Coalition for Health Summit

The Plateau State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) is set to host the first-ever Plateau Business Coalition for Health (PBC Health) Summit on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The groundbreaking event will be held at the Crispan Suites and Event Centre in Jos, Plateau State, starting at 10:00 a.m.

With the theme “Unlocking Value Chain in Healthcare Financing through Sustainable Business Partnerships,” the summit aims to enhance collaboration between the healthcare sector and the business community. It seeks to address critical financing gaps in healthcare delivery by engaging stakeholders across various industries to explore innovative, sustainable solutions for improved health outcomes in Plateau State and beyond.

The summit will bring together a distinguished roster of dignitaries and thought leaders. His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Executive Governor of Plateau State, will attend as the Distinguished Guest of Honour. Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, former Nigerian Ambassador to Namibia and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, will chair the event, while former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Chibi Dariye, will serve as the Father of the Day.

Renowned tech entrepreneur and education innovator Mr. Sim Shagaya, Chancellor of Miva Open University and Founder of uLesson Group, will deliver the keynote address. His insights into technology and innovation are expected to offer fresh perspectives on healthcare financing and delivery.

Adding cultural significance to the event, His Royal Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, CRF, the Gbong Gwom Jos, will grace the occasion as the Royal Father of the Day.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Baamlong, will serve as Chief Host, with the summit being organized under the leadership of Dr. Kumtap Yilji Cashmir, Chairman of NMA Plateau State. Dr. (Mrs) Nankling Lamu chairs the planning committee, with Dr. Kevin Y. Kwarshak serving as Secretary.

The summit is expected to be a milestone in Plateau State’s healthcare journey, bringing together representatives from government, private enterprises, civil society, and the medical community.
