NNYO Begs LASG Over Okada Ban, Condemns Forms Of Lawlessness, Berates Transport Unions, LGAs

The Northern Youth Organisation of Nigeria, NNYO has pleaded with the Lagos State Govt.to consider the effect of the Okada ban on the helpless operators, even commutters who depend on the commercial motorcycles for movement to meet appointments in the state.
Through a press release signed by its Lagos chairman/ Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Danmuttaqa, the organisation affirmed that it is regrettable that some disgruntled elements who violate the rules and cause mayhem have mixed with genuine operators who daily ply the roads to earn a living as patriots.
The group while begging the govt to temper justice with mercy, also berated the various unions to which the Okada riders belong for failing in their responsibilities of regulation, control, supervision and general sensitisation on the laws and codes of conduct.
The press release also contained the willingness and readiness of the the NNYO to collaborate with the LASG to handle issues relating to all Arewa Okada operators to check mayhem, if allowed.
More so, it conveyed that most Arewa youths who operate as commercial motorcycle operators in Lagos are victims of circumstances because the transport unions have failed to sensitise them on basic do’s and don’ts.
