NOA organises town hall meeting in Niger on HIV/AIDS, security, tax reforms, others

The National Orientation Agency, NOA, in Niger State has held stakeholder engagement town hall meetings to discuss the nationwide sensitisation on five critical areas affecting the nation’s unity, growth and development.

Speaking during the meeting, the Director General of NOA, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, explained that the key areas of the campaign centre on five critical issues affecting the nation’s well-being, unity, and development.

According to him, these areas include World HIV/AIDS Day, security awareness, discouraging get-rich-quick syndrome, World Human Rights Day and tax reform bills.

Issa-Onilu noted the need for collective action and active participation from all Nigerians to address these challenges.

” The government had intensified efforts to provide free and accessible HIV testing and counselling services nationwide, ensure antiretroviral treatment is available and accessible to people living with HIV/AIDS, and partner with local and international organisations to combat stigma and discrimination.

“On security awareness, the government is strengthening security architecture through better equipment, training, and increased funding for security agencies,” the NOA DG stated
