NSCDC Arrests Suspected Power Cable Vandals, Fake Currency Producers In Zamfara

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State have arrested three suspected vandals of armoured cables.

The suspects were alleged to have vandalised the armoured cables worth N205,000 in Maru Local Government Area of the state.

The NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, Ikor Oche, paraded the suspects on behalf of the state commandant, Akushie Sparks, on Friday at the command headquarters in Gusau.

He said the suspects have severally tampered with installations belonging to Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, thereby depriving residents of Maru LGA adequate supply of power.

As such, Oche vowed that the corps would not relent in hunting down people who were hell-bent on truncating and sabotaging the efforts of the government.

The suspects identified as Jamilu Mohammed and Shehu Bashar who are both 18, as well as 22-year-old Bashir Samaila all confessed to the crime
