*OJO LOCAL GOVERNMENT GIFTS ESSENTIAL FOOD PACKAGES, CASH AND CELEBRATES YULETIDE WITH THE WIDOWS AND ELDERLY CITIZENS IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA*

The welfare and well-being of the people is the core responsibility of any responsible and responsive government at the grassroot.

This was the counsel of the Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Rasulu Olusola Idowu (Mr.Project) during the presentation of essential food packages and celebration of the yuletide with the Windows and Elderly Citizens in the Local Government Area.

Hon.Idowu explained that over 100 Windows were given essential food packages, cash gifts while over 100 Elderly Citizens were also given essential food packages, cash gifts and gas cylinders to celebrate the yuletide, noting that his administration will continue to make lives more meaningful for the people in the Area.

The LG. Boss advised the eligible Voters to get their Permanent Voter cards ready to vote during the forthcoming elections for continuity so as to enjoy more of dividends of democratic governance at the grassroot.

Earlier, in her welcome address, the wife of the Chairman and Chairperson, Mrs Abimbola Idowu remarked that the Local Government was mindful of the situation of Windows’ plight to take care of the home as the ‘singular home makers’ but that should not deter them from raising promising and future leaders, adding that for the loss of their beloved husbands, is act an of God, who giveth and taketh lives.

Highlights of the events were motivational talks, dance competition and presentation of cash gifts to the winners of the competition among the Widows and Elderly Citizens. They were also given sumptuous foods to celebrate the yuletide.

The occasion was witnessed by the Vice Chairman, Hon.(Mrs) Edna Uche Ubochi,Leader of the House, Hon Solomon Adefemi Wusu, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Babatunde Lawal Olorunfunmi, Council Manager, Mrs.Esther Yetunde Ajose, Councillors, Exco Members, Management Team, Party Leaders and other Stakeholders in the Area.
