The senator representing Benue North West, Dr. Titus Tartenger Zam, and the Executive Director of Finance and Accounts, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Abuja, Dr. Mathias Byuan, have called on the people of Benue to embrace unity and peace to foster development. The duo made this appeal during a thanksgiving service marking the installation of Archbishop (Dr.) Chivir Chianson, C.M.C., F.I.M.C., as Archbishop and Secretary General of the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN). The event took place on Saturday at the Power Center Ministry, Makurdi.
Senator Zam emphasized the importance of supporting Senator Dr. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), who is a Benue indigene, to succeed in his role and attract greater development to the state. He congratulated the newly installed Archbishop and pledged his unwavering support.

Dr. Byuan, who served as chairman of the occasion, assured Archbishop Chianson of his full support and that of the SGF. He also urged the Archbishop to pray fervently for Benue State and Nigeria to ensure sustainable peace and progress.
“I urge all of you to pray for the bishop. This is not an easy task; he will lose sleep praying for us, for Benue, and for Nigeria so that things will work as we all hope. We need your prayers,” Byuan said.
Earlier, the National President of the CBCN, Archbishop Prof. Leonard Bature Kawas, who officiated the installation ceremony, charged Archbishop Chianson to lead an exemplary life as a man of honor, stating, “To whom much is given, much is required.” Prof. Kawas commended Chianson for restoring a cordial relationship between the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He further appealed to illustrious sons and daughters of Benue to contribute towards purchasing a befitting new car for Archbishop Chianson to facilitate his frequent travels between Benue and Abuja without the risk of mechanical faults.
In his vote of thanks, Archbishop Chivir Chianson expressed gratitude to SGF Senator George Akume, member representing Gboko/Tarka Federal constituency, Hon. Mrs Regina Akume, FHA Executive Director Dr. Mathias Byuan, Senator Titus Zam, and others for their support. He also solicited prayers and continued backing for Senator Akume and President Tinubu’s administration.
The event also featured the introduction and prayers for Veronica Chianson, wife of Archbishop Chianson who was consecrated Bishop recently in Abuja alongside several pastors and apostles who were also ordained in Abuja.
The installation event in Makurdi on Saturday was graced by many bishops including Mike Angou, Benjamin kurudu, Zegetor Kwase Apie, and others
