Sexual Assault Referral Centre Coordinator Advocates Improved Humanitarian Coordination

The Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) Coordinator, Linda Ene Dirisu, was among key participants at a three-day workshop recently organized by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The workshop, held to strengthen humanitarian coordination in the state, provided a platform for critical stakeholders to exchange ideas, share expertise, and identify strategies to enhance response efforts in crisis situations.

Speaking at the event, Dirisu highlighted the importance of integrating gender-sensitive approaches into humanitarian coordination, emphasizing the critical role of sexual assault referral centers in supporting vulnerable populations.

The workshop featured a series of interactive sessions and practical exercises aimed at improving collaboration among government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and international partners. Participants also discussed key challenges facing humanitarian efforts in the region, including resource mobilization, capacity building, and the protection of marginalized groups.

At the end of the workshop, attendees expressed their commitment to applying the knowledge gained to foster more effective and inclusive humanitarian interventions across the state.
