Transforming Procurement in Benue State: Engr. Comfort Adadu’s Remarkable Journey

Since her appointment as Director General of the Benue State Public Procurement Commission, Engr. Dr. Comfort Adadu has left an indelible mark on the state’s procurement landscape. Her tenure has been characterized by strategic partnerships, innovative initiatives, and a steadfast commitment to transparency and accountability.
Ageda Sylvia Mngohol, Information Officer, BSPPC, notes that Engr. Adadu has fostered partnerships with key organizations, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), and the Institute of Public Procurement and Environmental Social Standard (IPESS) at J S Tarkar University Makurdi. These collaborations have enhanced the Commission’s capacity to combat procurement-related crimes, improve procurement processes, and promote capacity building.
Some of Engr. Adadu’s notable achievements include organizing a mental health workshop for staff, implementing e-procurement processes, training desk officers from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and Local Government areas, and actively supervising ongoing projects to ensure due diligence.
Her leadership and commitment to transparency, accountability, and due process have earned her the nickname “Due Process Woman.” Engr. Adadu’s appointment as Director General is a testament to the government’s commitment to effective governance and procurement reform.
