You, not Musk are in charge of staff cuts – Trump tells cabinet secretaries

President Donald Trump of the United States on Thursday told his cabinet members that they, not Elon Musk, have the final say on staffing and policy at their agencies.
Trump said the billionaire Tesla CEO and his Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, will play an advisory role only.
Musk reportedly told the cabinet he was good with Trump’s plan.
The meeting was convened amid complaints about DOGE’s blunt-force approach from agency heads to top White House officials, including chief of staff Susie Wiles.
The White House Office of Legislative Affairs has been inundated with calls in recent days from frustrated Republican members of Congress all over the country, some of whom have faced anger from constituents at home.
Trump, when asked if Elon Musk had moved too fast with DOGE, said he did not think so, stressing that Musk was teaching everybody how to cut costs
