Benue SUBEB Chairman Frowns At Staff Misconduct

Oath Of Secrecy & Sanctions To Be Introduced- Board Secretary

The Executive Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Comrade Joseph Utse has charged staff of the Board to shun truancy and lateness to work.

He gave the charge on Monday at a meeting of SUBEB Management with staff at the board multipurpose hall and it was made available to TheSKY Newspaper in a press release signed by the Head of Information/Protocol of the Board, Mrs Erdoo Sar in Makurdi.

“Comrade Utse frowned at the manner in which classified and unverified information is released to the public. He advised staff to desist from this unwholesome act or face sanction”, the statement reads.

The Board Secretary, Chia Ikuluke in his remarks stated that the office will commence the process of Administration of Oath of secrecy on staff so that any one found breaching the oath will be sanctioned. He also assured staff that issues of staff welfare like promotions, payment of medicals claims and others will be reviewed by management with out delay and urged staff to remain loyal.

In separate remarks, Permanent Members and Directors of the Board urged staff to eschew every act of misconduct in service and advised them to follow right channels of communication, imbibe the spirit of team work, avoid financial embarrassment and divulging of official secrets.

In a response, Chairman of the NCSU Hemen Lemon Atero on behalf of the staff thanked management for scheduling this meeting which was like a truth and reconciliation forum. He appealed to the authorities to be more sensitive to the issues of staff welfare to enable staff give out their best in service.
He apologized to management for staff that had issues of misconduct and pleaded that due process in administration be carried out with a human face.
