The 2001 historic inauguration of Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba, between October 13 – 17, 2001, inside both Cultural Centre, Ibadan, and Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, which featured the then sitting Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a Contemporary of Aremo Olusegun Osoba of Ogun State, as 1992/1993 Socal Democratic Party (SDP) Governor of Yobe State, and General Buba Marwa (Rtd), then, the immediate past Military Governor of Lagos, from far North, Adamawa State, alongside prominent Sons and Daughters of Yorubaland both in Afenifere and Yoruba Council of (YCE), the Group pictures attached, adequately explained the solid foundation, our Political Leaders and we, Progressive Youths, put on ground 22 years ago, to arrive at this stage Today, where Rotational Presidency is the order of the day without being enshrined in Nigerian Constition.

 

Advance team of Yobe State led by Alhaji Oginnin, a native of Osun State and Special Adviser of Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim was received inside the Trenchard Hall of University of Ibadan, Ibadan, on the last day of Event, Award Night, to receive our beautifully carved Odu’a Award alongside their Boss, but “man proposes, God disposes” as circumstances beyond control prevented arrival of His Excellency same day, but Hall was full of those in positions of Authority between North and South with attendance of former Chairman of UI Alumni Association and sitting Minister of Justice and Attorney – General of Federation, late Chief Bola Ige, SAN, who felt at home with UI Students shouting “Ige, Ige, Ige…” And witnessed by his Son, Architect Muyiwa Ige

As Organiser, we dreamt it big and we achieved it as predicted with support of our Political Leaders, particularly with cooperation of Northern Political figures, late former Governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim and General Buba Marwa (Rtd), who offered our Exco members free flight throughout lifetime of Albarka Airline in recognition of this laudable achievement

 

Following day, we received him inside Government House with Oyo State Deputy Governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, as Host

 

We therefore received the news of the death of our Distinguished Senator representing Yobe East in Saudi Arabia with great shock and commiserate with Governor Mai Mala Buni and good People of Yobe State as well as Nigeria’s Senate. May Almighty Allah grant his soul sweet repose
