Cabinet Reshuffle: Ortom Redeploys Ladi Isegbe To Trade & Investment, Assigns Portfolios To 2 New Commissioners

 

Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom Wednesday assigned portfolios to two newly appointed and sworn in Commissioners; Comrade Ojotu Ojema, Youth & Sports and Dr Joseph Ngbea, Health & Human Services while Hon. Mrs Ladi Ajene-Isegbe who was in charge of Youths and Sports Ministry was transferred to Trade and Investment ministry.

“It’s a plus to me because this assignment has brought me close to my profession. I am a professional accountant. This is where I should have been all along”, Mrs Isegbe told TheSKY Newspaper while reacting to her redeployment.

The Governor told newsmen during a briefing at Government House Makurdi that the decision to reshuffle the cabinet was reached by the state executive council.

He explained that a new ministry, Industry and Cooperatives was created with Barr Merga Kachina formerly in charge of Industry, Trade and Investment to now oversee its affairs. Cooperatives has been detached from Rural Development to form the new Ministry.

Until his appointment as Commissioner, Dr Joseph Ngbea was Chairman, Governing Council of the Benue state Polytechnic Ugbokolo, immediate past Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Benue state chapter and former Head of Department, Histopathology, Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi. Dr Ngbea was appointed to fill the vacuum created by the death of his predecessor, Dr Emmanuel Ikwulono who passed on in November this year.

Comr. Pastor Ojotu Ojema before his current elevation as a member of the Benue state executive council was state Chairman, Joint Public Negotiating Council 1,2&3, Chairman Nigeria Civil Service Union in Benue state as well as national secretary, Benue state University Alumni Association.

A new Special Adviser, Hon. David Demenongo Orshi was assigned to be in charge of Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
