INVASION OF OYO SECRETARIAT BY YORUBA NATION AGITATORS, PROCLAIMATION BY DUPE ONITIRI ABIOLA, SWEARING – IN OF INTERIM HEAD OF G’OVT, OMOBOLAJI OLAWALE AKINOLA OMOKORE: CLASSICAL DEFINITION OF INSANITY – JUNE 12 ACTIVISTS.
Since news of invasion of Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, by Yoruba Nation Agitators, all of whom dressed in Army Camouflages, broke out yesterday morning, media attention has shifted to Ibadan, the Capital of old Western Region, scene of incident.
It is a classical definition of insanity and display of lowest level of illiteracy because we observed that this Splinter Group, according to Prof Banji Akintoye, was beclouded by inordinate ambition to outsmart the main Body of Yoruba Nation led Prof Banji Akintoye/Chief Sunday Adeyemo (a.k.a Sunday Igboho) in taking over the seat of old Western Region Government and seem not to understand anything further, the gravity of crime they are commiting.
They furnished the Office of their Provisional Head of dramatic Government, did swearing – in ceremony and camouflage uniforms were being used by them including the ADC to the Interim Head of non – existent Government.
Based on viral video, Mrs Dupe Onitiri Abiola revealed that in pursuant to earlier declaration and reclaimation they did on Sunday 20 November 2022, and Sunday 18 December, 2022 respectively, which should be under Prof Banji Akintoye then, her (Dupe Onitiri Abiola’s) Proclaimation and Omobolaji Olawale Akinola Omokore’s swearing – in ceremony took place on Friday, 12 April, 2024, and only for the gunmen’s invasion of the Agodi Secretariat to follow yesterday, Saturday, 13 April, 2024, because to this Splinter Group, it appeared as if Prof Banji Akintoye/Chief Sunday Adeyemo (a.k.a Sunday Igboho) Parental Body was too slow to take over the Government of old Western Region, having produced the flags, insignia of Office and other symbols before now, according to our observation.
We commend the combined team of Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police, Civil Defence and Amotekun Corps who engaged the armed Agitators in exchange for fire at Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, before they were incapacitated
To a kindergarten Student, it was all drama and classical example of madness, all in the names of Yoruba self determination struggles.
We therefore condemn all these unfolding dramas in totality and call for thorough investigation of the entire episode to unravel mystery behind it while beefing – up the security Network around States’ and Federal Government Secretariats as well as Government Houses now becomes necessary because they did not only ridicule themselves but the entire People of Southwest and that of Nigeria at large with their shameful, senseless, illiterate, unlawful, selfish, absurd, uncultured, thoughtless and barbaric moves to hijack power with their drama in broad day light.
We call on all patriotic Citizens and Residents of Nigeria to be law abiding and keep faith with democracy in this challenging period.
It’s on record that this Group frowned at and publicly condemned the Yoruba Nation advocacy since its emergence because we so much believe in sovereignty of Nigeria especially now that various bold steps are being taken daily by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to steer the ship of this Nation towards economic recovery.
