Irigwe people condemn killing of cattle, destruction of farm crops in Plateau

The Irigwe Development Association (IDA), has expressed concern over the killing of their cattle and destruction of farm crops in Maiyanga community of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The association observed that the killing might have been carried out by youths who were provoked by the activities of herders in the area.

Danjuma Dickson Auta, the Secretary-General of the association, in a statement, noted that the incident was unfortunate and appealed to the security agencies to thoroughly investigate and ensure that those responsible for fuelling the crisis in the area were prosecuted.

He lamented that the action of the perpetrators was a threat to the peace pact earlier signed with the Fulani community
