ITF Partners SUBEB For Capacity Building

The Industrial Training Fund, ITF, is to collaborate with the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, for training of Staff and Teachers to improve Basic Education in the state.

SUBEB Head of Information/Protocol, Mrs Erdoo Sar made this known to Skylink Newspaper Correspondent in Makurdi Thursday.

According to her, the Makurdi Area Manager of ITF, Mr Daniel Asele stated this Wednesday when he led management team of the Agency to SUBEB Headquarters Makurdi for a familiarization visit with management of the Board. He expressed confidence in the calibre of experienced Consultants available at ITF for for Manpower Training.

Intimating SUBEB management on the workings of ITF, Mr Asele said the Agency is charged with the responsibility of training indigenous manpower to meet the employment needs of the Nigerian society.
According to Mr Asele, he discovered upon assumption of duty as the Makurdi Area Manager five months ago that, Benue residents were not adequately aware of the diverse services and gains ITF offers and are yet to key in to benefit from their services as desired. As a result, he earmarked some sister organizations like SUBEB to partner with for optimal performance of staff.

The Executive Chairman SUBEB, Comrade Joseph Utse in his response appreciated the ITF team for the enlightening visit and said, learning is a continuous process as such, trainings are necessary at all levels of endeavor to be in line with global best practices. He added that, one of his mandates was to ensure that pupils and students in Basic Education Schools acquire skills to enable them become self reliant. Comrade Utse therefore sued for synergy between the Board and ITF.

Also speaking, the Director Administration and supply SUBEB, Mr Terna Ayu thanked the ITF team for the visit and expressed optimism that the ITF training will be an added advantage to the Board.
