Transfer: Chelsea defender joins Vincent Kompany at new club
Chelsea defender, Ian Maatsen has joined manager Vincent Kompany at Burnley.
Maatsen becomes Kompany’s and Burnley’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old joined the Championship club on Friday on a season-long loan.
Reacting after joining Burnley, Maatsen told the club’s side: “I’m excited to come here and play for Burnley. It’s a big club and a new challenge which I’m ready for.
“It’s a different town but a new challenge. I look forward to meeting new people and this season will be good for me.”
Maatsen scored three Championship goals in 40 matches under Mark Robins last season to help Coventry secure a top half finish on goal difference
