Benue 2023: Byuan Declares

An Abuja based business mogul cum politician, Dr Mathias Byuan has declared his intention to contest for Benue Governorship seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, come 2023 general elections.

Dr Byuan who interfaced with the media Monday in Makurdi, the state capital stressed the role pen pushers in nation building hence his decision to engage them and solicit their support.
The dollar Senator (as he is fondly called) who hails from Shangev-Tiev, Konshisha Local Government Area of the State was confident that APC will lead Benue in 2023 to bring about transformation in all sectors.
The CEO, Byuan Resources Ltd asserted that Benue needs total rehabilitation and if given the mandate, he will not just blow the siren as a Governor but will bring unprecedented development, noting that Benue has all it takes to grow economically.
Byuan said he has a serious agenda for Benue state which will be unveiled in his blueprint a the official flag-off of his campaign that will come up in no distant time.
Lamenting the hardship faced by Benue citizens, Dr Byuan who contested for Benue North-East senatorial seat in 2011 election said he will not only do physical infrastructure but consider stomach infrastructure as well. He cleared the air that he has never enjoyed politics money as alleged by some people but he has rather been pumping money into politics and will do same when he becomes Governor.

In a vote of thanks, Mr Tersoo Kula acknowledged that Byuan is the right person to govern Benue state come 2023 having proven to be a pacesetter and a philanthropist.
Responding on behalf of the media, Acting Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Benue State Chapter, Comrade Martins Kajo assured Dr Mathias Byuan of adequate publicity to enable him clinch the Benue number 1 seat.
Earlier in a welcome address, APC Publicity Secretary, Mr James Ornguga appealed to Dr Byuan to keep to his good promises when he wins election so as to give the party a good image and ease their work. He said that the Governorship Aspirant has given the APC sense of belonging having appointed one of them, Mr Alfred Berger to head his campaign media team which is an indication that he will carry them along in governance as well.

In separate comments, Mr Terungwa Nunde, Dan Morgan Ihonun and Alechenu AB who spoke on behalf of zones A, B and C respectively promised their unflinching support for Byuan’s Governorship pursuit.
On his part, a strong APC member, Mr Jacob Jande pointed out some factors that qualified the Dollar Senator for Benue number seat, saying he is favoured by zoning arrangement, he doesn’t give up easily and has hailed from the same area with the former Governor of Benue State, Late Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu who was a monumental achiever and had done the state proud.
